The miniature REX IoT Sticker locator obtains locations via the Find My service. Its main advantages over conventional Bluetooth locators are: the ability to display location history, its miniature size (only 1 mm thick), and the ability to stick it to the tracked object. Location accuracy is in the order of tens of meters. The REX IoT Sticker location chip is ideal for shipments or valuables where the miniature thickness of the locator is key.

How does the location sticker work?
Location tracking is provided by Apple's Find My service. The location tracking chip itself does not contain GPS, but obtains accurate locations by communicating with nearby Apple devices (the user of the location tracking sticker does not need to have an Apple device, and the location tracking sticker is not added to the Find My app). These locations are then displayed only in the REX Online app (for Android, iPhone, and PC). Locations are obtained approximately once every 5 minutes and sent back to the REX Online app once an hour. The accuracy of the location and the number of locations depend on the location. In places with large numbers of people (e.g., cities), localization will be completely problem-free. Conversely, in areas with low foot traffic, locations will be obtained less frequently.
